Our commitment
Charly's Burgers believes everyone deserves a great burger — and a website that's easy to use. We work to make charlysburgers.com accessible to people with disabilities, and we're committed to improving it over time.
Conformance level
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, neurological, and language disabilities.
What we've done
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background (red on white, white on red/black).
- Semantic structure — headings, lists, landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) correctly marked up.
- Alt text on content images; decorative images marked aria-hidden.
- Keyboard navigation — every carousel control, drawer, button, and link is reachable by keyboard.
- Respects
prefers-reduced-motion— if your OS asks for reduced motion, animations turn off. - Language alternatives — toggle between English and Spanish with the footer switcher.
- The drawer menu closes on
Escapeand on outside click; focus returns to the menu button.
Known limitations
There are areas we're still improving:
- Online ordering widget: orders go through Square. The accessibility of that interface is managed by Square, not us. If you can't complete an order online, call us and we'll take it by phone.
- Google Map: the Google Maps iframe on the Location page is governed by Google's accessibility standards. The full address, phone number, and hours are also available as plain text.
- Embedded video: the YouTube video on the home page loads only when you activate it. For captions, use the YouTube player controls.
How to report an issue

When you reach out, please include the URL or page where you hit the problem, a short description of the issue, and the assistive technology or browser you're using if that's relevant.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a destination. We run audits, test with screen readers and keyboard navigation, and update the site as standards improve. If you have a suggestion, we'd love to hear it.
